Lesson 8. Fringe Benefits
A fringe benefit is usually anything that is given to an employee in connection with an employment or service relationship. By its nature, a fringe benefit is the income of the recipient, but paying income and social taxes on the fringe benefit is the responsibility of the company granting the benefit.
Fringe benefits are subject to income tax at a rate of 20/80 and social tax at a rate of 33%.
